I Figured on Drawing

All I did today for inspiration was type in the word pose into google. Among the various questionable images were a few yoga poses so I figured I’d give a little figure drawing a try. Maybe next time I’ll try one of those pretzel-like positions.

Not me myself, I mean drawing one.

EEp Opp Ork AH Ah

Yup definitely taking a step back towards the cartoony this week. Not complaining though. I’m actually pretty happy with the expression on this little guy.

My coffee isn’t kicking in very quickly this morning so I don’t have much else to say.

Gettin’ My Week On

I’ve got a good feeling about this week. I’m up, I’m moving, the brain is actually turned on and working. Yup, it’s gonna be a good week. I mean come on, I drew a little dude chilling his way into Monday in a smoking jacket. How stressed could I possibly be?

PotW: Logan

It is Sunday morning, I did not prep for this… here is Logan. Show him some caption love. (He kinda looks like he could use it.)

Jumping for Joy

There are some days that just remind me why I started doing this daily sketch stuff. I love this drawing. Full body action pose, definitely not what usually comes out of me in the morning. I guess I’m getting a jump start on the weekend.

Sorry, sorry… that was bad.

Here, I’ll make it up to you with a link to some parkour (freerunning) videos. Awesome stuff.

EDIT: My mistake. Parkour and Free Running are two similar but different things. Cool, I learned something today.

Where are Yoooooouuuuuu?

On my way out this morning I got a good look at the artwork The Wife brought back for me from her latest NYC trip (hey, bribes work). And inspiration hit. Ever since college my friends and colleagues have decided that I am a big Scooby-doo fan. (I am but that is besides the point.) They have given me cards, stuffed animals, clings, ornaments and even a 2.5 foot statue (remember the WB stores?). The latest addition is an original marker drawing from current Scooby artist for DC, Joe Staton. (Above isn’t it, that’s all me.)

If you could have any original artwork from a cartoon or comic, what would you choose?

My Hidden Potential

The Wife and I have been starting to watch A LOT of HGTV lately. (Ah married life, finally kicking in.) Well, low and behold during one of our watching marathons the show Hidden Potential came on and I was pleasantly surprised. The architect on the show, Barry Wood, has a link to yours truly. He was one of the Founding Fathers of my fraternity back at SU.

I met him once at homecoming very quickly, very quite and reserved. The other alumni back for the weekend were much… louder? This was actually surprising because we had been told to “lock up our girlfriends” because Barry was coming to town. (I have to assume this was because of his looks … he stayed pretty clear of any trouble making.) Anyway, that is supposed to be a caricature of him above, if you can’t tell.

Another cool little HGTV connection: On the amazing waterfront properties show, that Maryland farm house? Yeah, that is The Wife’s cousins (something removed) they threw us our engagement party there.
