I still like Dogs

I can’t NOT draw dogs. That just wouldn’t be me.

While I definitely goofed in the anatomical department with this sketch I am really happy with most of the parts that went into it. It is just putting all those parts together as a whole that it becomes a bit lacking for me. I like the cat and the chair though. The wife actually wants to see if she can find one like that.

So I showed this sketch to The Wife and her response was, “This. More like this.” So I guess I’m back. I don’t really draw women that often in Hello with Cheese, so why not. The plan is M/W/F and I will hopefully be working from a buffer. We’ll see.

It has been quite a while since I’ve posted anything here. I’ll see if I can pick it up a bit. Getting back into sketching will be good for me.

In between banging my thumb with a hammer and putting together my new closet this weekend I decided to settle down with my buddy Michael Bracco’s Novo books. I love this series and I can’t wait to pick up the latest one (just released). (He allso just did an All-Ages GN called Adam Wreck.)
This sketch isn’t of any of the characters but I can definitely see the influence of his style in it.
Also, he’s a Baltimore boy. So, local economy and all that.

Started keeping a completely non- Hello with Cheese sketchbook today. My coworkers brought it back for me from a paper show. I really have no idea why I started on the cover instead of the first page. It just needed it.

Ok, so your first though was probably, “wow, Bryan’s getting lazy.” And my only response is, “what do you mean getting?”
But seriously, what you see above is the very rough concept sketch of dern’s and my first submission in the woot.com t-shirt derby. Subject: Flight. If you have a woot account feel free to head on over and give us some voting love (if you like it, of course). Otherwise, just head on over to woot to check out the final illustration.
