Oh please pleasepleasepleaseplease

I think this little fellow would like you to head over and leave Chloe a caption (especially you folks poppin’ in from heatherweb). At least that’s what I think he wants. Unless of course you are eating something right now. Then I’m probably completely off.

Prancing Puppy

Frances had been moving slow all weekend and had stopped jumping up on furniture so we made an appointment for her at the vet’s yesterday. Bad news is hip dysphasia and early onset arthritis. Good news is the anti-inflammatories and joint supplements kicked in fast and Frances was back to her old speed this morning.

Now I just have to figure out how to keep her off the furniture.

Thanks for all the feedback yesterday. So mostly reading the PDFs, huh. Cool. But for Dawn here is what I do to sync the comics to my ipod:
1. Create an “ipod photos” folder in the “Documents” folder.
2. Sync that folder to my ipod (photos or images tab) while it is docked through iTunes.
3. Drop the folders of the cartoons/comics I want to read into the “ipod photos” folder.
4. Sync or refresh, done.

So today’s question: What kind of extra things would you be interested in seeing me do with Frances & Friends? More desktops, icons, print books, pictures, posters… you tell me.

Potw: Franklin

Big thank you to everyone sending in new photos, keep ‘em coming. This week’s picture is from one of many from a reader who took that call for help to heart. Allow me to present Franklin.

In no way shape or form does Clint Eastwood endorse this blog.

So leave a caption if you feel lucky. Well, do yah, pup.

Sorry, couldn’t stop myself.

Last week’s winner:
PotW Abby & Mellow

The PotW contest can only last so long without your help. So send those pictures of your pets to me here at potw@bryanprindiville.com.

PotW: Leia

Leia

This week’s PotW is a beautiful full blooded basset named Leia! Although I was supposed to meet Leia in person at an ABC picnic a little over a year ago alas it never came to be.

As always, leave a caption below in the comments. And if you would like to get your little one in the contest pop on over here to find out how.

Last week’s winner:
Frances on the Floor
darn it, my reclining human broke again. -Josh B

Actually, he wrote more but that’s the part that won.

Pic of the Week

camera

Back when I used to do my comic Bassetville (more info on that here) multiple times a week I started a caption contest to fill the non-cartoon updating days. Well, now that I’m getting back into the cartooning world I thought that would be a good tradition to bring back. This time with a little twist.

Every Sunday I will post a (usually) viewer submitted photo that I find either cute or funny. Maybe both. It’s up to you, the viewer, to make me laugh and write the caption. The following week I will post my favorite caption and the game will begin anew.

But wait, that’s not all.

After I have picked my favorite caption I will use it and the photo to inspire me to take it a step further. Want to know what I mean? Well, you’ll have to wait until March 11 when Frances & Friends launches at ClickWheel.net. Then we will find out together because to be honest…

I have no clue what I mean either.

If you are interested in sending in a picture of your furry, feathered or whatever friend do so to potw@bryanprindiville.com and check back every Sunday to play the game.

(By submitting photos for use the Pic of the Week contest you are giving me permission to reuse said submissions in future Frances and Friends related productions.)

Bassetville Archive

Bassetville Logo

From September 2003 to November 2006 I experimented with my first long-term newspaper style strip. Bassetville started as a weekly black and white strip about a singular basset hound, Dudley, and evolved into a 6x a week full ensemble feature.

Through its many twists and turns (including some dead ends) Bassetville was a very successful learning curve. During its run I created a number of characters that I felt a strong connection to and continue to use in my new projects. I also learned what kinds of stories I enjoyed creating and what kind of storyteller I was. Hopefully, I am a better creator for it.

While I have moved on to new ventures these strips will always have a special place in my heart (even if I find it difficult to look at them). Please feel free to make your way through the archives and enjoy these stories at your own pace.
