57 Channels (And Nothing On)

Ok, maybe now there are a lot more than 57 channels now but there still isn’t a blessed thing on. Last night I decided I needed to revisit my “need to watch” shows. Way back when, before I got digital cable (or married), I had the cheap-cheap cable plan, maybe 15 channels, maybe. I used to get a lot more work done and feel more productive. So last night I took a chainsaw to the shows I need to follow so I can open up my nights to more drawing, reading, playing with the dog, whatever. Here’s hoping.

I agree with you. Television, with its stupid realty TV shows is really the bottom of the barrel. Unlike you, when I got cable, I got it all!

You mean there are still shows on TV. I never watch anything but sports.

We only have 5 channels here: 1, 2, 3, Prime and C4 (all free).
With “Sky” (satellite) that increases to maybe 20. MAYBE. And it costs the same as expensive cable in the US! So we stick with our 5 channels. We are lucky, though, in that these channels play uncensored movies and cable shows like Dexter and the Daily Show, plus all the regular shows on US TV – 2 1/2 men, Simpsons, Family Guy, Ugly Betty etc.
Still, it’s nice to just turn off the TV and do other stuff.
