Thrillered

Today is the day I am most jealous of New Zealand. Why? Because the awesomest Halloween party throwers moved there almost two years ago. And a Halloween isn’t a Halloween without Dawn and Darren.

Now state side I have another buddy Darren that does a comic, The Expert’s Guide on How to Kill Things That Go Bump in the Night. I’ve been kind of remiss in pimping that one seeing as I always point you to his other comic, Dear Pirate.

And while I’m pimping the holiday theme reads I have to point you again to Dead of Summer, which is about to end its run, for some excellent zombie time reading.

Ahoy, Something Different

Something a little different this morning. For some reason I feel like blaming my buddies Nick and Jami of Super Art Fight for this one (that’s 3 different links there btw). They’ll be fighting at Tigercon this weekend (I’ll be there too) if you are interested.

Anyway, since most of the sketching I’ve been doing lately has been digital I thought I’d point out that this is Sharpie on 11 x 17 inch particle cardboard (I think) with coloring via Photoshop.

Goin’ in the Wind

It was cold. It was windy. It had to be done. And as always Coraline watched and waited for Frances to come back but today there was just a touch of resentment about the fact that she got to stay inside. Unfortunately (or fortunately as far as the lawn is concerned) the morning walks don’t go quite as quickly as this sketch suggests.

Farley’s “First” Appearance

It’s Old English Sheepdog week here at the blog. I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before but for those of you that are new I actually grew up with a beagle and a sheepdog (and then multiple sheepdogs thereafter) not bassets. My favorite comic strip has also always been For Better or For Worse, and for the record 32, straight, married and physically active.

That said I wasn’t sure how I felt about the strip starting over, until today. I loved Farley. I’ve been waiting for him to be introduced back into the strip again but I didn’t realize how stupid giddy I’d get over it. It’s like all sorts of awesome. This is the dog that made me want to do a comic about dogs in the first place.

Anyway, if you feel like checking it out you can head over and see Farley’s first appearance yourself.

Attack of the Spitting Box

There are many things about becoming a cat person that are taking some getting used to. For the most part, ever since I adopted Frances she has slept through my morning routine and not really become active until I am starting to get dressed for work. Not so with Coraline. The newest feline member of the Prindiville clan wakes up ready to go as soon as my alarm goes off and then joins me in the bathroom.

Now once we are in the bathroom, which is off the master bedroom, I close the door so a certain someone that doesn’t have to wake up for 2 more hours can continue to sleep. Usually Coraline just stays off to the side or at my feet but for some reason not today. Today she got very upset at the large box that decided to eat me and then start attacking me with water.

That is, of course, until she won by waking up The Wife (or to her, The Mommy) by yeowling so the box spit me back out. Corline was very pleased with herself. The Wife… not so much pleased with me.

PotW: Abby & Lucy

And, just like that, the Pic of the Week is back. This time we have a familiar face, Abby, along with her new sister, Lucy. While in Florida for our second wedding of the month The Wife and I got to meet my parent’s new addition. These two play like nobody’s business.

So I held up my end of the deal, your turn. Caption ‘em up.

Last week’s winner:
PotW Sara

“Catnip followed by catnap….” -lola

The PotW contest can only last so long without your help. So send those pictures of your pets to me here at potw@bryanprindiville.com.

Door Prize Double Team

We had our annual Office Show here at work earlier in the week. Last year I got lucky and won myself a brand new digital camera just in time for the Honeymoon. This year…a stuffed teddy bear. The ladies weren’t too happy with me when I said my kitty had a new toy. Still, I gave it to The Wife just in case and as expected she immediately passed it to Frances. Both she and Coraline have been having a blast ever since.

Poor little Staples bear.
