The Dirty Dozen

If you’ve been coming to this site for any length of time you realize I have a soft spot for basset hounds, especially rescued basset hounds. What you may not know is that I have had a yearly gig with ABC Basset Rescue in New York where I design the logo/t-shirt graphic for their Fall picnic. The above illustration is this year’s and I gotta tell you, I’m pretty happy with it.

If you are so interested you could get yourself a t-shirt and provide a little basset support yourself. T-shirts are available in adult and child sizes. Also if you are in the Saratoga State Park area you may want to consider swinging by yourself.

The Eternal Struggle

This weekend I got a chance to briefly meet fellow Clickwheel contributor Joe Dunn. Joe is a force in the webcomic world with crazy talent and just a fantastic style. You can see check out much of his work at Digital Pimp. The project of his that I really want to point you towards, however, is Turtle vs Bunny.

Turtle vs Bunny is an interactive story where you vote for which character is going to come out on top and eventually win the race. I picked up the book of the first race this weekend and just made my way through the current story yesterday. Definitely worth a look. Pay special attention to how he handles dialog. Pictograms! Brilliant!

PotW: Chaps

And we’re back… this week we have a picture of Chaps. I admit there is not a whole lot happening in this photo but there is just something about it striking me as humorous. So caption ‘em up and make the funny.

BTW: don’t forget to send in more pictures (bottom of the post) if you would like this feature to continue. Be sure to include you pet’s name. Horizontal format preferred but sometimes I can make vertical work. Also if you (or someone you know) didn’t take it, don’t send it. I always err on the side of caution.

Last week’s winner:
PotW Lexi & Logan

“hey mom, can Logan come in and play?” -Suzy

The PotW contest can only last so long without your help. So send those pictures of your pets to me here at potw@bryanprindiville.com.

Flobots

I’ve been looking into a new group that has really been inspiring me lately called FLOBOTS. It is a politically-minded group from Denver that has recently made it out into the mainstream and I am really enjoying their music and message. The above sketch is of one of their Emcees, Brer Rabbit (at least I think it is Brer) done while listening to their music off their MySpace page.

Also if you like this sort of thing you should check out Rise of the FLOBOTS, a webcomic by DJ Coffman done in conjunction with the band.

Positive Response

Wow, thanks for all the positive feedback on yesterday’s character sketch. I figured I’d follow it up today with another character from the same story. I’m sure I’ll continue throwing out sneak peeks as development progresses but we’ll get back to the random sketches soon enough.

Slow slow progress

I’ve been working on a Sci-fi comic for a while now. The main points of the story are written. Characters were designed. Even had an artist at one point (Lee Cherolis, BTW, mad talented, keep an eye on him). In fact this sketch is taking the changes he made to my original design and working it back into my style.

My editor at Clickwheel is very interested in what I am going to do with this concept. I am too, to tell the truth. I think it may be time for me to step back and give it a shot.

Just thinking out loud. What do you think, does this sketch intrigue you at all?

I Can See You

I’m really not sure why I felt the need to draw a ninja this morning. Last night was spent watching football and Heroes. Huh.
