More Business Card Drawings

The main reason I am rushing to get these cards done for the weekend is because I will be involved in my first launch party. Bad-Ass Faeries 2: Just Plain Bad (available at Amazon) which features my first published commissioned illustration. The party is Sunday night at Balticon this weekend, from 7:30 - 9:30. Those of you in the area, coming to the con, be sure to stop by.

BS Prep for Balticon

Hey all, the sketches are going to look a little different for the rest of the week while I get myself ready for Balticon this weekend.

Every time I go to a convention (which is infrequent) I’m asked for business cards which I haven’t bothered with. Usually, I just write down my info and draw a little sketch but I thought this time around I’d actually come prepared. I’ve gotten some work this way.

Maybe it’s time I take myself a little bit more seriously.

Each card (standard size) has my name and contact info at the bottom with the rest of the card being white space left for me to draw on. I plan on having a bunch already done (which is what I’ll be posting the rest of the week) but will keep a few blank ones for when the opportunity lends itself to taking the request of the person I’m giving it to.

What do you think?

Rain and Tea

It’s raining. I’m drinking tea.

That is all.

(if you are thinking, hmmm… I never saw this yesterday. You’re right. Oops.)

Water Fowled

We have gotten a lot of rain over the past week. That has to be the explanation for today’s sketch.

That’s not a horrible looking mallard if you ask me. I think drawing your own version of a duck has to be some sort of cartoonist rite of passage.

Can you think of any others I haven’t hit or should be aiming for?

PotW: Charlotte

Yup another cat for the Pick of the Week. This time by the name of Charlotte. I wonder why I am getting so many cats?

A More Balanced View

Since I’ve woken up a good hour before The Wife this morning I was looking for something to keep me busy. I decided to tighten up the other concept sketch for yesterday’s cartoon (posted on ireport.com). I agree with David that the other version made the better cartoon but there is just something about this that I liked. So there you go… an extra Saturday sketch.

ireport that irock

Seems a little smaller this time doesn’t it? Well, now you can see the bigger version over at ireport.com. iReport is a user generated news site associated with CNN. When David and I realized they were also looking for cartoonists we decided to give it a shot. Head on over and see the full-scale cartoon while we test it out. You can also rate the cartoon or leave a comment.

Thanks for the support.
