Double Whammy

It’s raining this morning and I have to go to the dentist. Happy Monday.

I did have a good weekend though. Coolest part? After writing up a new bio page (because if you’ll remember all my extra pages disappeared a few weeks ago) I stumbled across the missing rescue list and Bassetville archive pages. I can’t begin to explain to you how happy I am that I don’t have to recreate them.

Now if they will just stick around this time.

PotW: Beau

Today’s Pick of the Week is the obviously spoiled little man of one of my coworkers. His name is Beau.

As always, leave a caption in the comments. I am depending on you.

Last week’s winner:
PotW Figaro

…I wonder if I can get out that door there…. -Cheryl B.
(longer caption edited down)

The PotW contest can only last so long without your help. So send those pictures of your pets to me here at potw@bryanprindiville.com.

Better Than One

Wanted to do something not cute and furry this morning so I decided to do a study of expressions. I have this cool little 4 faces of Buddha brass statue my Aunt-in-law gave me that worked as the inspiration. There’s a little Miyazaki influence in there as well.

I Need More Sleep

Thoughts I expect my friends and relatives are probably having today after viewing today’s sketch:

The Wife: “What have I gotten myself into?”

The Mom: “Where did I go wrong?”

The Dad: “Where did she go wrong?”

The In-laws: “But… he seemed so normal.”

The Coworker: “I know I have that number for the office shrink somewhere.”

Baltimore Food Examiner

I got an e-mail from one of my old coworkers this morning. She is doing a new blog for the Baltimore Examiner (local newspaper) called the Baltimore Food Examiner. So far she is two posts in and I’m finding it entertaining. So I thought I would share. Heck, I even learned something I didn’t know.

If you were wondering what the sketch has to do with any of this, well, in her second post she sings the praises of cast iron skillets. They resonate a little differently for me.

Night Watch

baby toy spider

Have no fear, this little darling did not pop out of my imagination. It it from one of the awesomest movies I’ve seen in a long time, Night Watch.

The Wife and I decided to go bargain binning over the weekend at Blockbuster. I’ve been curious about the Russian supernatural thriller for some time now. Between finding it for $3.99 and its sequel (Day Watch) as part of the 4 for $20 pile it was a complete no brainer.

And completely worth it.

Folks, this movie had some of the coolest subtitle work I have ever seen. If someone was yelling the words were HUGE. A vampire’s call… red… then dissipates like a drop of red dye into too much water. All this on top of a cool story with great visuals, priceless.

It is finding a movie like this that makes all the other dung piles I’ve taken a chance on worth it. And I’ve found some stinkers.
