Happy Halloween!

No promises how long the Bassetville comics will stay in color but for now, I like them better this way.

Yes, Bassetville is back…kindof.
Bassetville is back in concept and characters but the approach will be different this time. Instead of an ongoing comic strip format I will be doing one panel cartoons more along the lines of what I have been doing with Broken Muzzle (in format, not content). The themes of these panels will be Frances and Friends, Ville-ifications, and Bassets on the Brain.
Frances & Friends will focus on our friends from the original Bassetville comic strip.
Ville-ifications will be my interpretation of pop culture (shows, music, celebrity…) through my dogtoonist eye.
Bassets on the Brain will be everything else basset related that pops into my mind (see Thursday’s post).
Things may evolve once I have the new site put together but until then, look for Bassetville posts on Tuesday and Thursday. (Except for a double post tomorrow.)

Well, since I accidentally put the third comic for the week up on Wednesday evening I decided to spend today tinkering around the site. So…no new comic until Monday. Who knows, if I’m lucky thinks might look a little different around here by then.
Wish me luck.
For now, here’s a picture of my dog.

She’s not thrilled with me either.

OK, so here is the last installment of my first batch of fan art panels.
Hope you’ve liked them.
Today’s panel is of the Blank Label comic, Wapsi Square. Paul has an awesome art style and his treatment of female characters is fantastic. The weird wild wonderful world of Wapsi (whoa) is a joy to read. When I moved all my comics off my work computer (because it was taking me too long to read in the morning) this was one of 2 that stayed.
Maybe some day I tell you the other.
Maybe in batch 2.

Holy smokes! Between all the folks who popped back in on Monday and Tuesday after I mentioned a possibility of returning to Bassetville (you may not have left a comment but I saw you, big brooder is watching) and those of you who followed Rob’s link from the Erfworld forums… I haven’t seen traffic like that in about a year.
So I am left with a dilemma, what do I do to try to keep you? For those of you from Erfworld I have a huge buffer of a new comic I’ve been working on, the site is just not ready yet. Should I pull some out now to whet your whistle?
For the Bassetville folks, your return sparked 6 new panels in a different format than I originally ran. I’m liking what I see but I’ll have to do some more planning before I set up a new site. I may have to start throwing out some bones for you folks, too. (Groan… my jokes haven’t gotten any better.)
What to do, what to do… feel like telling me?

Wally and Osborne is a great, colorful family friendly comic done by Tyler Martin. I was slow to check this one out myself but I’m glad I did. Due to a new child and recent bout of jury duty he hasn’t been updating much.
I look at that as an excellent excuse to cruise through his archives and catch up before he picks up production.

Ever since I consolidated my cartooning onto this blog I have had some side effects I didn’t really like. I love using it to upload random art and keeping up with my cartooning but I never liked how my Bassetville strip transferred onto the new blog. Well, now I’ve taken some time to resolve that issue.
You can now read the whole confusing ride of Bassetville from stat to finish easily at Bassetville.BryanPrindiville.com.
Bassetville was a great learning curve for me. Sometimes I wish I knew a little more before I started it. The difference from when I started to now is pretty apparent. Any opinions out there on whether I should think about doing a Bassetville 2.0?
If so tell me what you liked about the strip. What should I keep and what should I lose?
This is all theoretical at the moment but if I get enough positive responses I may consider it.
