Here we go with day two of Bear Week. Nothing really to say about the panda.

Bear Week

Lee was the first to send me an idea for a theme and that theme was bears. I shall start off bear week with the illustration you see above because it is COLD outside. This is April people. I should not have to go outside in a jacket. Let alone a corduroy jacket.

Wow, I can honestly say that I never thought anyone would care if I tried out another signature. Looks like I was wrong. I admit I’m a little surprised that there is a preference for the smiley face (included in the opinion are the 2 most important women in my life). So it is here to stay.

Since this weekend is Easter weekend I am going to take the next two days off as well. I will be back on Monday with one of the suggested themes, though I’m not sure which yet. Don’t forget if you have a suggestion for a set of drawings for me to do for a week leave them as a comment. Feel free to be as vague, out there or specific as you’d like.

Yes sir (or madam) I am definitely enjoying the new Robin Hood series from the BBC. The second character I needed to draw for myself had to be Little John. This drawing is inspired by all the pictures I took of my Dad in my youth. The man was (is) 6′6″ tall and I never managed to actually get his head in the frame.

I discovered BBC America OnDemand yesterday. One of the shows I can watch is the new version of Robin Hood. Not the greatest show I’ve ever seen but I’ll give it a few more episodes. It kind of reminds me of what I like about Doctor Who in a way.

No illustration today folks, I’m taking the day off. Of course, if I was taking the whole day off I wouldn’t have even posted this. And who knows, maybe when I get into work tomorrow (I’m writing this Monday night) I’ll do one of those stain drawings.

The main reason for this post is that I think I am going to start doing themes to my illustrations each week. Sometimes it is much easier to start drawing when I have a goal in mind. If you feel like it, I would like you all to help. Let me know anything you’d like to see me try.
