Oooh, I want a flying apostrophe! It could go correct grammar on signs all over town!
Apostrophes are too often used where they aren’t needed, and omitted where they are needed. We need an Apostrophe Avenger!

The Apostrophe laughs in my general direction. I never know when to use it especially with its and it’s.

You only use the apostrophe for an abbreviation of it is. Any other time, no apostrophe. It countermands the possessive apostrophe rule, that’s why it’s hard to remember.
