A little bit of OZ

I have a really bad habit that isn’t so unheard of in designers. I have to sketch during a meeting. Sure sometimes there is a point to the sketches, maybe coming up with the layout for the project I’m meeting about.

Usually not.

Here are some examples from over the last month’s weekly staff meetings. I blame this on the WIcked being the next musical I’m going to see in the new year.

Secret Santa 2006

Well here’s a good test for starting out my new blog. Today is the “reveal” day for the 2006 Webcomic Secret Santa from the Tao of Geek. My assignment for this year was The Longest Sojourn. Have a look:

I have to admit, with my schedule of late, I didn’t get a chance to read much of the comic but the artwork is cool and I absolutely loved the design of these creatures (Warbecks).

About Bryan

I am a professional graphic designer and part-time freelance illustrator that has been working in the field of Communication Design since my graduation from college in 1998. As an Advertising Design major at Syracuse University I was active in the campus community as a member of the SU Pride of the Orange marching band as well as an active brother in the Kappa Delta Rho fraternity (KDR).

Currently I work as a Sr. Graphic Designer/Illustrator for Catholic Relief Services (CRS), an international relief and development agency, while maintaining my own roster of clients on the side.

In the past I have also taught and studied Chinese internal martial arts at the U.S. Kuoshu Academy in Owings Mills, MD and done face painting at the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
